Take that, spammer
Over the past few days, an anonymous asshole has been trying to post hundreds (or maybe thousands... I lost count) of spam comments on chickenmafia.com. For a while, I tried to ignore those little pieces of spam. But they kept coming. The idiot just won't stop. So I finally decided to do something about it.
I decided to use a popular anti-spam weapon invented by some geeks from Carnegie Mellon. It's called CAPTCHA, which stands for Completely Automated Public Turing-Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart. Shouldn't that be CAPTTTCHA? Dyslexic geeks.
Anyway, starting now, if you try to post an anonymous comment on this site, you'll see this:

The idea here is that humans will have no problem reading the word, while spambots will get totally confused. At least that's how it's supposed to work. I don't know about you, but all those squiggly lines make me dizzy.
I think I need to go throw up now. But I guess a bit of nausea is a small price to pay if it means that I'll never see that stupid spammer again.
We'll see if this works.

Why is it called SPAM?
Does it have something to do with the canned meat?
Hmm
Maybe the term "spam" is a synonym for "disgusting crap."
How bout?
SPAre Me? hehe
What?
You're as bad at making up acronyms as the CAPTCHA guys.
CAPTCHA experience
I wanted to comment on the polls since I noticed it's already very old. When I clicked on the add new comment link, I realized that I had not logged in and the CAPTCHA thingamajig appeared. I managed to save a copy of it:
Hmmm interesting, there's x... o... x... d... wtf?!! is that an A, an O, or a Q?!! No wonder we're not getting any comments! CAPTCHA sucks! We're confusing our simple-minded readers!
Have you seen the CAPTCHAs on Yahoo?
They're 100 times worse.
