Have you ever felt like there aren't enough hours in a day for all the TV shows you want to watch?
I've always wanted a way to speed up TV viewing. Windows Media Player does have a variable playback speed feature: press Ctrl+Shift+G when you're playing a WMV or MP3 file and you'll get a faster (1.4x) playback speed. Fun! Unfortunately, the trick doesn't work for other common media file types, so I rarely get to use it. Sure, I can convert all my TV shows to WMVs, but that's just too much work.
Well, my life was stuck at boring normal speed until I found Jesus Enounce 2xAV. It's a plug-in for Windows Media Player that lets you adjust media playback speed on the fly. And it works smoothly for all the file types that I've tried. Hallelujah! (Before you ask, no, I'm not getting paid to plug the product. I haven't sold my soul to PayPerPost, and I never will.)
I've been using the 7-day free trial version for a few weeks now. Yes, I managed to get around the 7-day limit because I'm awesome like that. And no, it's not technically software piracy, so they can't sue me... I think.
Anyway, I now get to watch downloaded TV shows and movies at 1.4x or even 1.5x speed. The little plug-in saves me a lot of time and allows me to work more and be more productive. Yay!
Just kidding, heh. Of course I'm using the extra time to watch even more TV. Hey, CSI: Miami is no longer as painful to watch when you can finish two episodes in an hour.

payperpost sucks!
how about sharing a tip to go over those 7-day trials? (I usually edit the date back)
Yes yes, something like that
Let's just say that I have 300+ days left in my 7-day trial, hehe >:)
CSI Miami will suck
no matter what. Unless you turn the audio off.
Fast forwarding is a good idea. I wondered how I can finish all my videos too. It's like if it's an hour movie, you'll need an hour no matter what.
I thought paolo already sold his soul to payperpost?
Oh yeah
But he has multiple blogs, so it's like having multiple souls.
I hate having multiple blogs
I'm divided between two now. Sheesh.
Yay for
split personality? :-)/:-(
err..
i have three blogs and one social network ..multiple personality disorder?
Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde, and...
Chuck Norris?
For a second there, I thought you got yerself an HDTV
and I got excited, heh. Oblivion in HD blows everything you've ever played before
in the same note, I have another game for you to waste your life over: BioShock. Let's just say I haven't worked on my 2007 self-assessment (for my 4th quarter bonus) yet because (YES) I've spent too much time playing
i know you're too much of a loaf to actually look it up
so here's something to get you started: ESRB ratings
Blood and Gore
Drug Reference Intense Violence
Sexual Themes
Strong Language
I think you'll love it :-P my Xbox is about to die from overheating
Wow, sounds like
it has all the good stuff, heh.
I've seen a trailer a long time ago. Unfortunately, my aging PC probably wouldn't be able to handle it. Time to buy a new one?
By the way,
I just finished Portal. Best game I've played so far this year. Of course, the year is only a week old :-P
Oh yea that's part of The
Oh yea that's part of The Orange Box - i.e. Half-Life, etc. Unfortunately I'm too stupid for hardcore shooters and I stay away from them like the plague. The only "shooters" I've played are Splinter Cell and BioShock (which actually lets you do the killing by either stealth, from a far distance, or stun/shock them first, then kill. Go figure.
oh yeah you might wanna gift
oh yeah you might wanna gift yourself a new PC anyway. or an Xbox 360. either way, it'll be the start of a VERY expensive addiction/dependence on games
You're making it
sound like a bad thing :-P
...
spending 2 grand on a new game every 2 weeks is never a good thing when you're trying to save up for a new laptop :'c
err, it's not uncommon around here when somebody makes a comment that has absolutely nothing to do with your post, right? bwahahah
Spending 2 grand on a video game?
I don't understand the concept :-P
I guess I better shut up before I get into trouble, hehe.
Yay for piracy!! Admit it =P
Yay for piracy!! Admit it =P
Nobody didn't admit anything
Understand?
I didn't pirate it
And even if I did, I would never admit it publicly, right? :-P
But seriously, no piracy was involved.
Pirate it to me
Don't tell anyone. You have my email.
No piracy involved
I swear!
Yeah, he just changed his system clock...
...to 2008 December Whatever, installed the program and reverted the clock back to normal. Normal programmers with brains do a seven day check based upon difference between current and installation date, with a giant error thrown if it is negative. Usual programmers which want to do everything as quick and cheap as possible just calculate, what is current date + 7 days during installation, save this value in registry or somewhere like that and compare against it using "<" operator.

Here's something else
in English for you: "self-incrimination" :-P
Hmm, just for the sake of discussion
How does one bypass these so-called "normal programmers with brains"?
If the programmer of trial checker DOES have brain...
...the only way to bypass it is to disassemble the code, find the checking function call and pass the program flow around it with JMP command. However, this already qualifies as cracking (and that is precisely what all the usual No-CD and similar patches do).
